Agree ako na hindi siya nominated for BEST PICTURE sa OSCARS. Sa technical aspects lang talaga kayo mapapabilib dito.
First is the ART DIRECTION. Super ganda talaga. I was surprised because they surpassed the descriptions from the book.
Next is the CINEMATOGRAPHY. I love it. Naaalala ko tuloy ang THE LAST SAMURAI pero the best ang MEMOIRS.
The ORIGINAL SCORE of Sir John Williams is so oriental. Ang sarap pakinggan. Bagay sa bawat scenes.
Then the SOUND MIXING too. Watch this on a DOLBY SURROUND THEATRE. Mapapabilib talaga kayo sa sound. As in wow!!!
Then of course the COSTUME DESIGNS of the geishas are colorful and splendid.
I just didnt like the SCREENPLAY. They should have made it as a Japanese Film. Nominated pa sana sila for BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM. Super effort na kasi sila ka-a-acting in English pero not convincing itong mga Asian Actresses/Actors. Bad accent kasi. Im disappointed.
Well, better luck next time Mr. Rob Marshall. You were snubbed again for being the BEST DIRECTOR. Amazing work here. Hats off to you!!!
I am still recommending this film. Look for the inner beauty of the geishas coz they're inexplicable.
