THE NEXT BEST SUPERSTAR

TRANSFORMERS

First, I must say that this is the best so far from Michael Bay.After his flop film “The Island”, I am pretty sure his fans will love him back here in “Transformers”. Dude, you made our childhood dreams into a reality. My toys from the 80s became real and alive at the big screen.

The Autobots and the Decepticons are remarkable. The transformations are picture perfect!!!! Wow!!!!Best in Visual Effects at the Oscars next year!

The story is so fast but you can easily get it. There’s no boring part. The humor of the film was on the right track. Even the Transformers are hilarious. Optimus Prime is my hero!
The sound editing gave me goose bumps. Please watch it on a Dolby Digital cinema so that you can feel it too.

The only thing that I didn’t like was the musical score. The main theme that I’ve been hearing throughout sounded like a rip-off of Jack Sparrow’s Theme( Pirates of the Caribbean OST) They’re pretty much the same.

The next best superstar? Who?No other than Shia LaBeouf! His name is really weird. Pronounced it as “Shy-uh La-Buff”.He was the cute little kid from Disney’s Even Stevens. Now he is a promising young Hollywood Superstar. He’s not that really handsome but his acting shows potential. He played Sam “Spike” Witwicky in this film. He really prepared to do this role. He is amazing. Oh I just can’t wait to see him in Disturbia and hear his voice in Surf’s Up. Next year we will see him in Indiana Jones 4. Then Transformers 2 too! He he! Oh Shia Shia!!!! Siya na nga!The Next Best Superstar!!!

Hats off to you Mr. Shia LaBeouf! You are so awesome!By the way. Megan Fox is really sizzling as Mikaela. P.S.The soundtrack really rocks! What I’ve Done by Linkin Park was played. Then Goo Goo Dolls performed the Sam & Mikaela’s Theme “Before It’s Too Late. I love it. Another Iris from the Dolls? I hope so. But the songs that rocked this film were Bumblebee’s Choice of Love Songs. Ha ha ha!!!!

A LITTLE MANHATTAN TO REMEMBER

LITTLE MANHATTAN

Probably the movie I can compare to A Walk to Remember. You know it's a small budgeted one but it's worth the dough.I love it so much!!!I was so kilig the whole time.I even cried to one tearjerky scene.

I had flashbacks of my puppy love way back in my childhood years while watching the cute New York love story of Gabe & Rosemary.

Josh Hutcherson (Gabe) is a promising young actor. I expect more from him soon. By the way he is also in Zathura.Charlie Ray ( Rosemary) is so sweet and charming.
Karate played a major part in this little movie. There's a great lesson you know. FIGHT FOR LOVE.

Scooter too was the main thing and gave us an ultimate puppy love ride. I love the scooter scenes!!! So cute and nakakakilig!!!!!!!!
Filipinos will love this film. Please watch it.

RISE OF THE FANTASTIC SEQUEL

FANTASTIC 4 : RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER

Honestly, I didn’t like the first movie. I was just so glad that they learned their lesson from it. There was a huge improvement! I’m not a fan of the comic book so I can’t bash if hardcore fans found some goofs about the facts. This is a fantastic sequel coming from a non-reader of the series.

Don’t expect an Oscar screenplay material here or award winning performances. This is a popcorn flick. Enjoy the show just like a 5-year old kid. Wallah! Fantastic experience to the max! The movie has a redeeming value at the end too.

Just feast your eyes on the visual effects and some sexy stuff. That’s what we wanted to see here anyway. The London scene was breathtaking. I loved the China catastrophe too. You may ogle on the voluptuous FHM’s sexiest woman on the planet “Jessica Alba” and the scorching delectable human torch “Chris Evans. By the way he was voted as “the man with third hottest body of the year” in a gay website. I like him in Cellular coz I saw him as an actor there but I think he is destined to spice up just like J.Alba. Oh man! I love the Silver Surfer. He is awesome! This movie is simply fun to watch!

C’mon guys don’t act like you’re a genuine US Critic who loathed this flick. This movie is cool!Truly a summer blockbuster!

GRIFFIN & PHOENIX’S ANATOMY

GRIFFIN & PHOENIX

I wasn’t able to catch the theatre run of this film coz there was no hype and word of mouth. I wasn’t that enthusiastic to watch it that time. The video is out so I finally met Griffin & Phoenix.
Ok, those names remind me of Hogwarts. This isn’t a fantasy film ok? This is a love story. Romance film. Griffin & Phoenix is a poignantly funny love story about two people who face a seemingly insurmountable obstacle that may stand between them and a last chance at love.
Honestly, there were no “kilig” moments at all. I thought that this was a drama film but I didn’t cry considering that this film tackles about cancer. I even prepared my hanky but it was useless.
Although. there were “touching” moments but not enough to wet my eyes. I just felt so bad on the conditions of the main characters. Amanda Peet (Identity) was believable on her scenes. Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding) was convincing to portray a divorced father of 2 and a cancer victim.
The movie was obviously low-budgeted. However, the director was good. The film was filmed entirely in New York & they really showed how beautiful the city is!!! I saw a clean & peaceful Big Apple.

The only thing I love while watching this is the soundtrack! If you are huge fan of Grey’s Anatomy then you know the style. They featured some cool and very unfamiliar songs. I never heard some of the songs but the moment I heard them? Wow!!! I fell in love with ‘em immediately.

The soundtrack actually saved this film!

ALMOST GROOL

OCEAN'S 13

I don’t know how to describe this 3rd installment.I think it wasn’t that great. It wasn’t so cool for me too.It wasn’t that horrible either. Well, almost grool for me.

This is a loquacious film. So don’t expect blasting galore, CGI extravaganza and even sexy beefcakes. Zilch! Just anticipate some dark humor. This is not a movie for everyone.
I missed Julia Roberts. They didn’t even care about her in the script. What happened to Catherine Zeta-Jones too?

I still don’t’ like Soderbergh direction and his camera! His films looked so dirty. Yeah, it’s his style but I don’t get it. Filthy cinematography.

Al Pacino didn’t look so bad. He was a soft villain but he did well. George Clooney is still awesome. Brad Pitt is still handsome & cool. Matt Damon is funny. Amazing cast ensemble!
If you’re a huge Oprah fan I think you might enjoy this.

Anyway, I suggest that you should just wait for the Original DVD. Just watch it at home.

ALMOST PORN- SO HOT!!!!!

SHORTBUS

Orgy, Oral Sex, Masturbation, Hetero Sex, Homo Sex.Lahat present.Kung open minded ka you will love this arty film.

THE FUTURISTIC HARRY POTTER WITHOUT THE SCAR & THE WAND.

MEET THE ROBINSONS

I finally met the Robinsons!!!!

After two months of waiting, I finally met the futuristic family. To make it more appropriate we had our rendezvous at Robinsons Pioneer. I called it “Meet the Robinsons at Robinsons”. What a wonderful bumpy ride!!!!

I just didn’t like the late showing of this animated film. The wait is over and I finally saw the young wizard of the future named Lewis and his Robinsons’ family.” Meet the Robinsons” tells the story of Lewis- a bright & creative bespectacled 12-year old orphan just like my fav wizard Harry Potter. The movie is set in 2037 and 2007. I won’t dig too much on the plot coz I really want you to watch this. I believe that the trailer wasn’t that promising. Walt Disney Animations trailers are always like that. However, they always surprise us when we are already watching ‘em ……. and even wet our eyes in the end. Did I cry? Yeah, just like a kid.

This is not from Pixar by the way. Don’t fret coz this is truly Pixar-inspired. Same magnificent CGI !!!As in maganda talaga!

What I really love here is the twist! There is a twist in Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban and this film that stars Paul Walker called “Timeline”. Both pictures had this back and forth space-time continuum, a snappy twist which is also present in this film. I just can’t help myself on that particular scene. I wept and I was truly inspired.Keep moving forward!!!!
By the way, Rob Thomas performed the theme “Little Wonders”. It was played on the film while I was crying. Danny Elfman, one of my fav music composers also contributed the score. Indeed, he is a genius in music!

Please have a tryst with the Robinsons. It’s worth the wait!!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!

COLD CASE MEETS VINTAGE CSI?

ZODIAC

I am a huge fan of CSI & COLD CASE and I think this Zodiac film is not quiet comparable to these TV series. Hey, don’t fret coz Zodiac is meticulously crafted.

This is from the director of Panic Room & Fight Club, 2 unforgettable brutal movies by David Fincher. This time his direction is quiet incongruous, a very soft film. I don’t know why the film is too long. No action scenes to grip. This is what you called a loquacious film. More on a procedural thriller and newspaper drama but I still like it! Just don’t love it though. If you are patient enough then probably you will appreciate its approach. Patience is badly needed while watching this.

Anyway, Zodiac doesn’t offer high-tech crime scene investigations so don’t expect CSI Las Vegas/Miami/NY scenes neither Cold Case flashback pictures. Don’t also anticipate star signs like Leo, Gemini, Virgo, etc to have major parts here. Zilch! LOL!

I must say that the magnificent CGI cinematography amazed me. The troika of Jake Gylenhaal, Mark Rufallo & Robert Downey Jr. is believable. I can see the enthusiasm in their acting.
I recommend that you should watch this on DVD with correct subtitles instead. I read that the video will be released next month.

Since the film is based on true events, I just hate the injustice I saw on that era.I really want to punish that Zodiac serial killer and put him in a gas chamber while being electrocuted in an electric chair. Too harsh? Watch this and you’ll feel the same.Good luck.
