Honestly, the first time I heard the group named The Weepies I said huh kapatid ba ito ng The Wreckers? Never heard of the group until I heard their song “World Spins Madly On” in the movie Because I Said So starring Mandy Moore.


Then around June when I bought Mandy Moore’s Wild Hope Album, I read that The Weepies also collaborated with her in this album.It was that time that I became curious about the music of The Weepies.

Honestly, excited ako na panoorin ito dahil ganda ng word-of-mouth nito sa US. Surprise Box office hit din,! Pinuri pa ng mga US critics at higit sa lahat fan ako ni Katherine Heigl. I love her as Izzie in Grey’s Anatomy.

What the fuck???? Twice lang ako natawa sa movie na ito pilit pa! Yun bang smiling face lang.Like say cheese! Oh my Lord! Ano bang pinagsasabi nila na all out comedy ito? Di ko nga ma-take ang humor. Of course naintindihan ko kasi sa DVD ko pinanood . Tama ang subtitles at out na kaya Orig DVD. Pero di pa siya palabas dito sa atin.

Nakakatawa bang manganak ang isang babae? Nakakatawa bang mag-weed at magpaka-high most of the time dahil tambay ka lang? Nakakatawa bang marinig ang -F word nang thousand times sa movie na ito?
This movie is not my type. Pero kung type mo ganito? Go!!! Watch this! Pero I am warning you di ito papasa sa panlasa ng mga Pinoy. Sa US lang! Parang Borat na tawa sila nang tawa tapos nang pinanood ko na eh di naman ako natuwa! Nasuka nga ako eh!

Tayo kasi hindi sanay sa loveteam ng isang beautiful sexy smart lady at isang matabang geek na di kagwapuhan na tambay pa, pervert pa ,addict pa! Ganito ang set-up ng Knocked Up. In-love na in love si Girl sa Boy to the max kasi sweet daw. Imagine that huh?Stupid bitch! Stupid story pala.
Gusto kasi natin pag love team bagay talaga. Ay naku dito kayo na ang mag-judge kung bagay si Seth & Katherine. May love scene pa? Sheet talaga! I covered my eyes kasi I wanna puke.

Anyway, OK lang dito ang acting. The best ang mga performances ng lahat. Parang natural lang sa kanila especially Ryan Seacrest, James Franco, Jessica Alba and Steve Carell. Ooopss naligaw lang pala ang mga ito.

I’m sorry sa parents ng The 40 Year Old Virgin. Disappointed ako sa movie niyo. Parang di na tuloy ako excited sa Super Bad. Title pa lang kinakabahan na ako.

Opinion ko lang ito. I am not daunting you to watch this movie kasi malay mo ito pala type mo. Good luck!

Then si Mama Leslie. Nalokah na dahil wala daw siyang bible na nababasa. Missed na raw niya si Jesus. Hu hu hu. Good for her kasi si Jaime na nakid- nap after the reward challenge eh binigyan ng clue regarding the hidden immninity challenge sa kanya pinagkatiwala ang clues. Mabait talaga si Lord sa mga nagdadasal. Kaso weak link si Mama Leslie.

Sa Immunity Challenge, panalo na naman Fei Long. Ang ganda ng strategy nila!

Back at Zhan Hu tribe, may plano si Ashley na sabihin sa lahat na crazy si Dave. Ang kanyang greatest enemy sa lahat. Most of the time they were bickering! Irritated na tuloy ibang members. Kaya in the end si Ashley natanggal dahil mas kailangan daw nila si Dave sa mga future challenges.
Natawa lang ako kay Ashley dahil honest siya when Jeff asked her kung ano basis niya sa pag-vote. Loka sinabi ni talaga: I am voting for Dave!” Ha ha ha!


Anyway, love ko pa rin both tribes.

WATCH THE TRAILER

Oh my God I didn’t expect this to be astonishing!

1408 is one of the best horror movies I have seen in a few years.
This is not your usual bloody gory, gross movie full of unreasonable gore.
This movie is all about the rising of your hair on your nape and maybe your arms.
Oh God I have goose bumps watching some scenes in the movie.





This is a one man show. Kudos to John Cusack!!! He nailed it down. He is an amazing actor often ignored by the Academy. Since this is a horror blockbuster I think he will be shunned again. Poor John. If you are a fan of Samuel L. Jackson, you will be disappointed coz he only appears here for 5 -8 minutes screen time. Yeah, it’s a cameo role for him but he was creepy!

The reason why I like this is because it’s from Stephen King! He knows how to keep the suspense and make the story unpredictable. Honestly, I was perplexed during the first half! I was punchy… about how come? Is this for real???
I even covered my mouth and utter "hell I didn’t expect that!”. If you love to scream and scream and scream… I’m sorry but 1408 is not a shriek feast flick. I guarantee that there will be some brief astounding moments but even kids can take it. Remember this is a PG-13 horror flick. It means a horror film for the kids too. OK?

The best thing in 1408 is the production design. What’s inside the f**king room is remarkable! Great depiction of the novel! I love it!









Swedish Director Mikael Hafstrom did a good job too after that dreadful “Derailed”he directed starring Jennifer Aniston.

Hey did you know that there is an alternate ending? What we saw in the theatres I think was the producer’s cut. Everybody hates it! Me too! But…. I already saw the director’s cut and I must say that his ending is hunky-dory and more sensible.

Where did I see it? I won’t tell you but the DVD will be released in the US this Oct. 2.

So better grab a copy and find out the alternate ending in the Director’s cut.

Oh dear Brokeback Mountain! Another gay movie for me this week?
So queer you know?
Ha ha ha!




Well, this popcorn flick is such a horrible one! Badly made! Poor direction coz of the cheap shots and atrocious script for a Sandler’s movie. Last year, I was crying so bad watching Adam in his “I think his best movie so far “CLICK”. Damn, I love that film. Anyway, thanks God coz the King of Queens “Kevin James is here and fortunately he saved this appalling blockbuster. If you like him in Hitch when he tried to plant a kiss on Will Smith.? Well, he’s here to lock his lips once again with another famous Hollywood actor. Hmmm….. I’m wonderin’ now.Anyway, It’s an Adam Sandler movie. So expect plenty of crass jokes and some low-brow humor (his style).

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not bashing the whole movie. Yeah. I said it was dreadful but after watching it I felt relieved and free. Or let me say “It’s like “coming out” huh???” or the feeling of seeing once again your long lost friend. Anyway ask Lance Bass from N’Sync ex-bf of Reichen the gay winner from The Amazing Race 4. Lance is here in a cameo role. He is totally gay just like his idol George Michael who is also gay. He he he.
Actually, the movie is aiming and cheering about gay rights but the in the first half they were mocking about homosexuality. So queer!



Why I was so pissed but pleased?

I just missed my dear buddy. Watching Adam & Kevin here is like reminiscing the days with my long lost “I don’t know where he is right now” best bud in the whole world. Dude, this is a comedy film but I was crying most of the time. I must say that Adam Sandler is good with his drama punch lines. Kevin is effective too. I feel the sincerity in their characters. Buddy where are you now???



Enough with my drama. Back to the movie.

Jessica Biel is here too by the way. Well, her rear end and two chocolate hills got the most screen time than her face. Funny and sexy. She is good in comedy but I love her in “The Illusionist”.



Thanks to Ving Rhames who stole the show in his uneasy revealing role. He is an amazing supporting actor!!! Watch out for him esp. in the shower scene. Ha ha ha!!!

Rob Schneider is here once again. He is always present to every Sandler’s flick. I don’t know if he is funny this time. I’m confused if his character is disgusting or side-splitting.



Adam Sandler kept on saying in the movie “ stop using the word FAGGOT.
It is an offensive gay term. Hmmm… I know why! He is pertaining to an incident that happened in Grey’s Anatomy set recently. Isaiah Washing who is playing Dr. Burke was accused by T.R. Knight for using that F word on him. Eventually, Isaiah was axed in the show. Lesson: “Everyone should respect the gay community”.

Oh yeah, Brokeback Fire Department this time but great gay pretenders.
I love the lesson in the film. So humane!

The youngest Survivor ever, FROSTI!!!

He is small but terrible.

First immunity challenge nila. Dragon Dance!
Each tribe will be connected to and carrying a heavy ceremonial dragon mascot. They will maneuver through a series of obstacles on their way to a locked gate. Once at the gate, one tribe member will scale two walls, releasing a drawbridge at each wall, retrieve a key, and race back to unlock the gate, freeing the rest of their tribe. Next, they will make their way through a swamp to the finish platform, where they will solve a puzzle. First tribe to do so wins flint and Immunity.

The race begins with the tribes trudging through the muddy course, maneuvering side-by-side as they make their way to the locked gate. Frosti and James are neck-and-neck as they catapult themselves over the walls. But when Frosti forgets to lower the drawbridge and has to go back, he gives James from Fei Long a narrow lead.

Carrying the awkward and heavy mascots, both tribes make their way through the waist deep swamp. Fei Long reaches the finish platform first. They start on their puzzle as the swamp slows the Zhan Hu tribe. Zhan Hu can never catch up, as Fei Long solves the puzzle, winning flint and Immunity.

Last Sept, nagkaroon ng premiere sa UP Cine Adarna ang film na ‘Ang Lalaki Sa Parola”
Hindi sakop ng MTRCB ang sinehan dito kaya naipalabas nang buo at uncut. Actually, maraming nalokah na mga girlaloo sa sinehan kasi scorching masyado ang pelikula. Yun yata intensiyon ng auteur ang pag-initin ang mga member ng 3rd sex. Nandoon din ang bida nanood kaya nalokah siya dahil piyesta mga chikas sa noteballs niya na ilang beses binuyangyang. Ha ha ha!Oooppsss.. pwede ba sabihin ito dito?
Pwede ko ba i-detalye dito ang mga uncut? He he he.




Anyway, nabigyan ito ng X-rating ng MTRCB kamakailan pero naipasa rin with minor alterations. Pag sinabing X? Pag-uusapan yan kaya naging curious ang ilan.

Well,pinanood ko uli ang commercial release sa Robinsons Galleria. Exclusive lang sa kanila. Bawal kasi sa SM di ba? Well, medyo may nawalang scenes nga. Mga ilang seconds lang naman pero yun pa naman pagppiyestahan ng mga Brokeback guys. He he he.
May pagka-Brokeback Mountain talaga ang style! This time it’s Brokeback Lighthouse.
Ang ganda ng story nito. Naka-sentro ang film kay Mateo isang lalaking taga-Albay na napadpad sa Lobo, Batangas para hanapin ang kanyang nawawalang ama pero sa bandang huli ang kanyang tunay na pagkatao ang kanyang nahagilap sa pamamagitan ni Jerome isang “gay” na laki Maynila. Doon umikot ang istorya na may pagka-misteryosa pa. Kung ilan sa mga lalaki sa mundo ay nagtatago pa sa closet at takot ilabas ang tunay na nararamdaman. Ganun din ang story nito, napaka-enigmatic at mapapaisip ka. Ang galing ng writer nila.

Bilib ako sa director na si Joselito Altarejos. Ganda ng mga kuha niya. Ang mga maseselang eksena na straight sex o gay sex. Maganda ang execution na hindi naman porn ang dating. Kung straight ka, well Jennfer Lee is here to sizzle the screen but be open-minded sa mga sex scenes nila Mateo at Jerome. Medyo marami. Baka ma-turn on ka at maging crooked ka tuloy No way dude!!!. If you’re gay and proud or still a brokeback guy open mo na zipper mo. Ha ha ha! I mean buksan mo zipper ng bag mo kunin mo jacket na sinilid mo kasi malamig sa sinehan. Lamig dude….








Pero may mga worst din akong napansin kahit Graded B pa ito. Yeah Rated Brokeback!
First, maganda sana cinematography kaso digital film kaya di mapapansin ang beautiness. Duh?
Panget kasi ng resolution sa big screen.



Second, nakakairita ang acting ni Harry Laurel as Mateo. Halata ang accent kaya pinalabas talaga na Bicolano. (monotonous ang pagde-deliver ng mga lines)I guess more acting workshops for the lead star.Sorry dude cute ka pa naman pero more practice pa. Si Justin de leon is so good in this film..Magaling na aktor sya.I hope he gets good break after this. Pero nakapagtataka lang kasi emote-emote sila sa jugjugan scenes nila. Ha ha ha! Good acting yun kung both straight sila.


Then may isang scene na ginaya sa Brokeback Mountain. Running naked tapos ligo ligo sa river. This time sa beach. Nyeeta akala ko talaga virgin beach ang nakita nila kasi heavenly ang reaction ni Jerome na gandang ganda. Maganda ba yun? Mabato at andilim ng dagat kaya? Tapos masarap daw maligo. Sana sa clear water man lang sila nag-shooting para kapani-paniwala ang mga reaction. Kahit nudist ako di ako maghuhubad sa beach na yun. Rocky kaya? Di naman fine white sand eh!

By the way, gusto ko ang musical score. Bagay sa mga eksena.

Anyway, enjoyable naman ang gay film na ito. Sa lahat ng mga Filipino queer films na napanood ko ito na yata pinaka-daring. I heard sa October na raw DVD release nito so kung gusto mo uncut well hintayin mo na lang. Uncut? Hmmm… yung isang actor dito uncut. Ha ha ha!

DAUGHTRY: IT'S NOT REALLY OVER!

Honestly, I have this album by Chris Daughtry in a coon’s age. One week after the release I already bought it. Honestly some tracks didn’t grow on me that fast. I didn’t like it first. I don’t know why?
I was just only listening to It’s Not Over & Home. The rest of the tracks I simply ignored them.

The other night I decided to bring the CD to my work and I played it as my background music while working. Damn! I realized that night after listening to all the 14 tracks that this album is a Grammy-bait! The whole album was produced beautifully.

Chris Daughtry and his band have a long way to run!

“It’s not Over” was the 1st single, I love this song the moment I heard it. Even though the style reminds me of Nickelback it is still good. Some of the outstanding tracks are “Home”- a beautiful ballad. It’s a lachrymose song actually. The song also charted high in the charts.Then there’s another rock ballad “Over You”. Amazing track too. I also enjoy listening to Feels Like Tonight, Breakdown, There and back Again, All These Lives and What About Now.






After Chris was booted out during the American Idol Top 4 night, I was shocked! I couldn’t believe it! But I became optimistic that it wasn’t the end of his career. I predicted that he would be the best-selling Idol on their season. Guess what? Their album was already certified 3x platinum goin 4x now. Where’s Taylor Hicks by the way? Im sorry Taylor coz Chris is the real American Idol. Of course Katharine McPhee too. I love them both.

Anyway, I highly recommend this debut album from Daughtry.

I predict that they will rake in nominations in next year’s Grammy.
Perhaps for BEST NEW ARTIST and maybe Song & Record of the year for “Home”.

Those lines were taken from a haunting song called “Answer” being played in the film “The Brave One” and performed by the beautiful singer/songwriter Sarah Mclachlan. The song is mesmerizing and it defines the emotion of the film. I really love the song so much and I am so glad they used it as the theme song.
LISTEN TO THE SONG

“The Brave One” is a vigilante/crime drama set in the safest but dark city in the world to live(New York) according to our avenging angel named Erica Bain played by award-winning actress Jodie Foster. After her fiancé David is murdered by punks in Central Park, Erica Bain begins to trail for the possible suspects with a view to challenging deadly vengeance. Whilst being pursued by Det. Mercer (Terrence Howard), Bain begins to display precisely the homicidal personality or the other stranger which twisted her life asunder when the life of her fiancé was taken.



This film is really disturbing. If you dislike the idea of violent revenge then don’t watch this. But if you’ll look closer to all revenge movies, I think this film by Neil Jordan is a class act and more arty. Revenge movies are really cool for me. I like the way they picture Erica’s catharsis. Sweet clandestine angst huh?

I think Foster’s noteworthy and compelling performance certain to garner awards attention.

I also adore the murky cinematography of New York as well as the vagaries of editing in the film. Meanwhile, the musical also adds some harsh tones and it’s really perfect during the sinister nights of Erica. Pay attention to the music of revenge. Damn cool!

Even though this film is quiet disturbing and there’s zilch for morality at least it’s not boring.

Few months ago I remember while I was riding an FX to Megamall, the driver was tuned it that time to this cool radio station in Metro Manila Jam88.3.

I was listening to a song being played on air and I instantly loved it.I didn't know the title but the chorus really caught me.The hook was she was singing about Oprah.

The song is really cool and catchy. I love the melody and the lyrics.I researched it and the song was Dear Oprah by Susan Cagle.
