HERMIONE AWAY FROM HOGWARTS

Finally, the wait is over for me. I'm a true shipper of Harry/Hermione and Dan/Emma love team ever since. There is something great about these two young superstars. But I'm not sledding to talk about my profound affection about their screen chemistry. I'm just going to rave the anticipated DVD of Ballet Shoes. This is Emma Watson's side project during her vacation days before filming Harry Potter. Shippers have been talking about this British television film since its release last year. It's time for Jishcand to wear his ballet shoes and dance with Hermione without her wand.

“Ballet Shoes” tells a story that revolves around three adopted sisters, Pauline, Petrova and Posy Fossil, who live in near poverty with Sylvia Brown, the niece of "Gum" (Great Uncle Matthew), who leaves on one of his journeys one day Each girl has a dream: Pauline longs to be an actress, Petrova wants to be an aviator, while Posy seems born to be a ballerina. But dreams are put aside when Gum does not return from an expedition and the family finds themselves in financial difficulties and struggle to survive. When the girls are accepted to ballet school, life becomes a whirl of classes and rehearsals. An unexpected opportunity arises to join the theater, when the girls discover their special talents. The girls must combine their talents to accomplish their goals and put heir names in history books.

This film is about hope and fulfilling your dreams. The film focuses primarily on the young girls and their ambitions, which begins when the door of opportunity for each of them opens at the local theater. It's easy to choose whose your bet here because the three sisters are different. Pauline is appealing but sometimes erratic. Posy is simply quiet but has something big in her heart. Petrova is the sweetest but pushy most of the time. Their chemistry makes this film so clever. It's inspirational to see sisters working together in times of hardship.

Technically, the film tops on production and costume design. The set of 1930's London is just spot on. Looking at those costumes is also thawing if you are still trapped in the vogue of that era. The actors simply look gallant wearing those impressive frocks especially Hermione Watson who has the opportunity to show herself that she is the next Keira Knightley. Watch out for that bath tub scene. It's honestly astonishing ogling her that way.

Should I really extrapolate that Emma Watson is amazing? No need to say coz she is damn good. Of course, watching her without the wand and her books is a bit weird coming from a huge Potter fan like me. She blossoms into a fine pulchritudinous young British actress in the film. I can't wait to see her non-Potter films in the future. The other girls are also effective especially Yasmin Paige who plays Petrova. That girl almost stole the show from Emma actually. Lucy Boynton however is forgettable maybe because her character is sometimes uninteresting. Some known British thespians have nice roles to look out for by the way. However, Emma Watson is really the only actress that you'll remember here.

Ballet Shoes is an enjoyable family film. I'm really pollyannaish that I watched this in DVD. You know their British accent is genuinely thick and it's arduous to understand some of the actor's line coming from their sass. The caption is a great help. If you're a huge Hermione fan, this is a must see. This film makes you feel good that even a worn out and catchpenny ballet shoes can make your dreams come true. “There's a way around everything, if you stop and think”.
