TINK LIKE A FAIRY

Walt Disney has been so successful in releasing direct-to-DVD animated features ever since they released the first one I remember :The Return of Jafar which is the sequel to Alladin. Then we saw the post-Cincerella story, the next of Mulan, Ariel ,Pocahontas and even Tarzan. The obnoxious Stitch also has an ebullient follow-up of course accompanied by Lilo again. Winnie the Pooh and his/her gang (I'm still confused on Pooh's gender) also have decent prequel, midquel and sequel. Actually, I've been thinking on this in a coon's age about Disney giving a shot about the fairy who always dusts their logo every time we watch a film from them. Remember her??? Yeah, her name is Tinkerbell ! Finally, my wait is over. Disney has released the DVD about the origin of our beloved fairy from Never Land. Exploring her wonders is such a fantastic experience only in my couch.

When Tinker Bell arrives in Never Land's Pixie Hollow, Queen Clarion tells her each fairy is born with a special talent, whether it is making flowers grow, giving fireflies their light or tracing beautiful patterns into a winter morning's frost. But Tinker Bell thinks her fairy talent as a 'Tinker' is not as special or important enough because Tinkers do not go to the mainland like the other fairies. When she tries to change who she is, however, disaster ensues. With encouragement from her friends Fawn , Iridessa , Rosetta and Silvermist , Tink discovers when you are true to yourself, magical things can happen.

The story of Tinkerbell is solid. Actually, it's mundane and we've seen numerous films with such premise about accepting who you are. The target audience of course will enjoy the simplicity and enchantment of the film. Teen girls and tweens will be delighted to mimic our fairies in Pixie Hollow. Tweens, mostly little girls definitely, are the prey for this magical feature. What's amazing about Tinkerbell is her origin. There are books that feature about our heroine and Pixie Hollow but watching the characters alive and the colorful paradise is truly enchanting. The film has a lot of humors to offer and prepare to laugh and smile coz Tink is so cute. Disney really can melt our hearts with their stories. Tinkerbell is genuinely engaging. The film is in 3D Animation. This is different from the former direct-to-DVD coz all of them are presented in traditional animation. Is this film has the same quality like the Disney/Pixar films we have enjoyed? Actually, hmmm... 80% at least. But this is more amazing compared to the Barbie Chronicles which I find so boring. I dunno I couldn't stand those movies. Visually, Tinkerbell is a delectation. It's hypnotizing watching from start til the last color of the film. The characters are adorable too. The designs and backgrounds are stunning. I'd love to download those magical scenes and make them as my wallpaper or screen saver. What's happening to me??? Am I being sprinkled with fairy dusts? I think Tinkerbell is so sexy. Look at that skimpy outfit!!!

The voice talents have contributed enthusiastic performances. Actually, it's good not to see humongous names from Hollywood. Mostly, that's the gimmick of the studios recently. In Tinkerbell, Mae Whitman who voiced our heroine, passionately delivers the humor and coolness of the character. Surprisingly, my dear Ugly Betty America Ferrera is here as one of Tink's friends. Accompanied by Raven Symone, Lucy Liu and Kristin Chenoweth. Their voices sprinkle some magic in the film. I think I should also point out that heartthrob Jesse McCartney'voice as Terrence is perfect to blow some spellbinding dust for the teenage girls. His character is a catch.

The most charming element of the film is the music. I love the Celtic touch to it. It's enjoyable listening to the mellifluous score when the fairies are high-spirited. It's thrilling to hear some good songs too like "To the Fairies They Draw Near" by Loreena McKennitt ,"Fly to Your Heart" by Selena Gomez and "Let Your Heart Sing" by Katharine McPhee.

I'm really glad Disney released the DVD. It would've been great too watching this in IMAX 3D. Oh I love the idea. Watching this at home in your living room is also magical. Witness how the little girls will giggle and smile. I also the appreciate the good values they teach here. Tinkerbell is a must have on your DVD shelves. Grab one now and believe me it's worth the dough. free glitter text and family website at FamilyLobby.com
