THE HEARTBREAK KID
Farrelly? Farrelly? why are you so filthy & raunchy???
The Heartbreak Kid is a remake of the 1972 Classic Dark Comedy of the same title.
Have you seen that film? No? Well, me too. I wasn’t born yet when it was shown that year. Anyway, fast forward to 2008 this remake was released last October 5 in North America. So we are very late again. Actually the Original DVD was released already in the US last December and I have watched it recently. I bet the bootleg DVDs are being sold right now. This is bad for the local distributor.
What can you expect from The Farrelly Bros? Simply, they will pack the screen with unjustified nudity, gross-out humor, graphically soft porn and some nincompoops to endure in the film. Yeah, some scenes are funny but they’re obnoxious. Some sexy scenes are side-splitting but it’s just inappropriate. Lila, Ben Stiller’s wife in the movie has an angelic sweet character here and later on you’ll be surprised coz she’s really a wild b***h.. I don’t get it why the Bros find it so funny. Kudos to that actress named Malin Akerman for her valor to show some of her jewels to the world. You know what I mean.
Ben Stiller is not funny this time. When was the last time I laughed watching him? Oh yeah! Their first movie with The Farrellys, a flick called “There’s Something About Mary”. That movie is unforgettable and I love it! What happened with this one? This is supposed to be their reunion. Too bad! They directed a bad scripted movie.
I love watching soft porn movies coz I’m only human not a saint. But in “The Heartbreak Kid”, I wanted to throw rotten tomatoes at them except Michelle Monaghan. I find her so pretty. She’s the wife of Tom Cruise in MI3.
By the way, this movie is too immoral. Yeah, sad to say. Maybe that’s the reason why I loathed this so much. I’ve seen a recent flick with the same formula called Good Luck Chuck starring Jessica Alba but I find it more hilarious than this one from Ben Stiller.
Bad screenplay +Bad direction.+Bad acting + Few Funny Scenes = DISASTER
This is Rated R in the US but R-13 here. Hmmmm… So I checked the MTRCB Permit of this flick at the ticket counter. Shocked! The disgusting and sleazy scenes are shortened and deleted. So it means that an “i-have-no-idea-about-this-stupid-movie“ moviegoer will just squander with this flick and regret in the end. Dude, just save your money !
